“. . . God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.” (I John 4:16)
This Bible Lesson reminds us of the comfort, power, and healing effect of Divine Love — of God eternal. Always with us, always caring for us and all of Her grand and beautiful creation. And of the importance of recognizing and demonstrating that Love, throughout our lives.
“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.” (I John 4:7)
“Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven:” (Matthew 5:44, 45)
“A few immortal sentences, breathing the omnipotence of divine justice, have been potent to break despotic fetters and abolish the whipping-post and slave market; but oppression neither went down in blood, nor did the breath of freedom come from the cannon’s mouth.
