April 20-26: “Probation After Death”

“Our God is a God Who sets us free. The way out of death belongs to God the Lord.” (Psalms 68:20)

This Bible Lesson gives us the opportunity to think deeply and prayerfully about the nature and quality of our lives; to honor and cherish our heavenly Father-Mother-God; and to experience the purpose, joy and fulfillment that results from following the teachings of Christ Jesus.

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:… . . . God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father…. work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:5, 9-13)

“Mortals need not fancy that belief in the experience of death will awaken them to glorified being.

Universal salvation rests on progression and probation, and is unattainable without them.” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 291:9-13)

The weekly Bible Lesson is read and studied daily by students of Christian Science the world over. You can also listen live and replay the Sunday church service and Wednesday testimony meeting held at The Mother Church of Christian Science, in Boston, MA.  Click here to access those services, or call 425-999-4511 to access an audio version of the Bible Lesson and many other Christian Science resources
