Golden Text
“. . . I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)
This Bible Lesson gives us the opportunity to prayerfully consider how we, too, can best be followers of Christ, Jesus; loving our neighbors, turning to God, Good, for our purpose and direction, health and peace and joy.
“And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret. ….
“And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship. Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. And when they had this done, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes:
“And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.
“and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities.” (Luke 5: 1,3-6, 11, 15)
“Those, who are willing to leave their nets or to cast them on the right side for Truth, have the opportunity now, as aforetime, to learn and to practise Christian healing.” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 271:25-29)
The weekly Bible Lesson is read and studied daily by students of Christian Science the world over.
