Nov. 2-8: “Adam and Fallen Man.”
Golden Text: “Blessed are YOU, O LORD! Teach me Your statutes… My soul clings to the dust; Revive me according to Your word.” (Psalms 119: 12,25)
This Bible Lesson shows us how to fully and finally “shake off the dust” of believing that mankind derives from “Adam,” what Mary Baker Eddy (Discoverer of Christian Science) calls a “belief in intelligent matter.” In doing so, it lifts our thinking to better understand mankind and all creation as reflections of God, Spirit.
“God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it.
“And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.” (Genesis 1: 27, 28, 31)
“Man’s genuine selfhood is recognizable only in what is good and true. Man is neither self-made nor made by mortals. God created man.” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 294:25)
About the Bible Lesson
The weekly Bible Lesson is read and studied daily by students of Christian Science around the world, and is read on Sundays in Christian Science churches everywhere.
Our Bellingham church has temporarily suspended Sunday services, Sunday School and Wednesday testimony meetings in order to honor Washington State’s Phase 2 Covid-19 guidance. However, the Bible Lesson continues to be read and studied, bringing the healing blessings of church to our members every day.
You can read or hear it too, at this link. You can also listen live and replay the Sunday church service and Wednesday testimony meeting held at The Mother Church of Christian Science, in Boston, MA. Click here to access those services.
