July 12-18: “Life”
Golden Text: “. . . the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.” (Psalms 42:8)
This Bible Lesson shows us the outpouring of blessings that come from reliance on God, Life, Divine Mind, rather than our own limited personal sense of ability, direction, or purpose.
“the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? ….I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” (Psalms 27: 1, 13, 14)
“Life is, always has been, and ever will be independent of matter; for Life is God, and man is the idea of God, not formed materially but spiritually, and not subject to decay and dust. The Psalmist said: ‘Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of Thy hands. Thou hast put all things under his feet.’” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 200:9)
About the Bible Lesson
The weekly Bible Lesson is read and studied daily by students of Christian Science around the world, and is read on Sundays in Christian Science churches everywhere.
We are grateful to announce the July 4 reopening of our Bellingham church services, which have been suspended over the past year to respect Washington State’s Covid-19 guidance. During these past months of, however, the Bible Lesson has continued to be read and studied, bringing the healing blessings of church to our members every day.
You can read or hear it too, at this link, whenever you wish, every day.
You can also listen live and replay the Sunday church service and Wednesday testimony meeting held at The Mother Church of Christian Science, in Boston, MA. Click here to access those services.
