Golden Text
“I cried unto thee, O Lord: . . . Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name:” (Psalms 142:5, 7)
This Bible Lesson pours out the liberating, uplifting, inspiring truth that God’s great love for mankind and all creation is always present to free us from the imprisoning falsehood of belief in a material sense of life.
“The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed…. He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.” (Psalms 103: 6, 10-12)
“It would be contrary to our highest ideas of God to suppose Him capable of first arranging law and causation so as to bring about certain evil results, and then punishing the helpless victims of His volition for doing what they could not avoid doing. Good is not, cannot be, the author of experimental sins.” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 230:11-16)
The weekly Bible Lesson is read and studied daily by students of Christian Science the world over.
