March 17-23: “Matter”

“. . . present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” (Romans 12:1)

This Bible Lesson gives us new, uplifting ways to think and pray about our identities, and specifically the human picture of physicality. The Lesson tackles head-on the temptation to think of ourselves as young or old, strong or weak. beautiful .. or not — and shows us how an understanding of our spiritual identity lifts us up and out of all false material limitations.

“Little children, keep yourselves from idols.” (I John 5:21)

“… take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the Lord charged you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.” (Joshua 22:5)

“In proportion as the belief disappears that life and intelligence are in or of matter, the immortal facts of being are seen, and their only idea or intelligence is in God.” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 279:16-19)

The weekly Bible Lesson is read and studied daily by students of Christian Science the world over.
