June 29-July 5: “God.”
Golden Text: “Who compares with God? Is anything like him?” (Isaiah 40:18)
This Bible Lesson leads us into quiet, deeply prayerful recognition of God, Good, as eternal, all-powerful, all-loving, and ever-present, tenderly nurturing and caring for His-Her creation.
“Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.” (Isaiah 43:20)
“Be still, and know that I am God:” (Psalms 46:10)
“Not materially but spiritually we know Him as divine Mind, as Life, Truth, and Love. We shall obey and adore in proportion as we apprehend the divine nature and love Him understandingly, warring no more over the corporeality, but rejoicing in the affluence of our God.” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 140:7-12.)
About the Bible Lesson
The weekly Bible Lesson is read and studied daily by students of Christian Science around the world, and is read on Sundays in Christian Science churches everywhere.
While our Bellingham church has temporarily suspended Sunday services, Sunday School and Wednesday testimony meetings in order to honor Washington State’s Phase 2 Covid-19 guidance, the Bible Lesson continues to be read and studied, bringing the healing blessings of church to our members every day.
You can read or hear it too, at this link. You can also listen live and replay the Sunday church service and Wednesday testimony meeting held at The Mother Church of Christian Science, in Boston, MA. Click here to access those services.
