May 13-19: “Mortals and Immortals.”
Golden Text: “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.” (I Corinthians 13:12)
This Bible Lesson challenges us to look above and beyond a distorted, “fun house” mirror reflection of what constitutes our identity. It instead reveals to us a truer, clearer picture of mankind as spiritual, whole and perfect –and urges us to claim this identity for now, and always.
“Cease ye from man, whose breath is inches nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?” (Isaiah 2:22)
“Man is more than a material form with a mind inside, which must escape from its environments in order to be immortal. Man reflects infinity, and this reflection is the true idea of God.”
You and your family are also welcome to join us at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, where you can hear this powerful lesson read, along with hymns and a sacred solo. Your children are always welcome in our Sunday School, where they will love discussing the Bible stories contained in the Lesson and related passages from the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health. Your smaller children will receive loving care in our Children’s Room.
Come join us on Sunday, or at our 7:30 p.m. Wednesday testimony meeting. You are most welcome.
