Nov. 5-11: “Adam and Fallen Man.”
Golden Text: “Consider the work of God:… God hath made man upright;” (Ecclesiastes 7:1 3, 29)
This beautiful Bible Lesson invites us to examine anew the contrasting stories of creation found in the Bible — and to choose rightly the inspiring, healing account of Genesis 1 as our guide to understanding Truth, Life. In this inspired account, God, Divine Mind, creates heaven and earth, and man as the full, complete, spiritual expression of God.
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. … And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold it was very good… Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.” (Genesis 1: 27, 31; 2: 1.)
“In the Gospel of John, it is declared that all things were made through the Word of God, ‘and without Him (the logos, or word) was not anything made that was made.’ Everything good or worthy, God made. Whatever is valueless or baneful, He did not make, — hence its unreality. In the Science of Genesis we read that He saw everything which he had made, ‘and, behold, it was very good.'”
