July 9-15: “God.”
Golden Text: “Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honor and majesty.” (Psalms 104:1)
This inspiring Bible Lesson encourages us to recognize — to strive to know — more and more of God’s goodness, power and wisdom. And in doing so, to ascribe to God, Divine Mind, the “… glory, honor, dominion and power everlastingly due its holy name.” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 143: 30).
“Give unto the Lord, O ye mighty, give unto the Lord glory and strength. Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.” (Psalms 29:1, 2)
“We cannot fathom the nature and quality of God’s creation by diving into the shallows of mortal belief. We must reserve our feeble flutterings — our efforts to find life and truth in matter — and rise above the testimony oft material senses, above the mortal to the immortal idea of God.”( S&H – 262: 9-14.)
You and your family are also welcome to join us at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, where you can hear this powerful lesson read, along with hymns and a sacred solo. Your smaller children will receive loving care in our Children’s Room.
